SDA Personnel Clean Channels at RW 01 Untung Jawa Island

Thousand Islands Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency personnel cleaned up channels at RW 01, Untung Jawa Island Urban Village, South Thousand Islands Sub-district.

Thousand Islands SDA Sub-agency Head, Abdul Rouf stated, channel dredging was carried out as anticipatory measure to prevent channels from being clogged since it could trigger inundation or flooding.

"We have collected 30 sacks full of mud sedimentation and garbage," he said, Friday (1/8).

From channels at RT 01/01, his side has collected 11 sacks of mud and garbage, while 8 sacks from RT 02/01, and 11 sacks from RT 03/01.

"Channels' length varies from 200 to 350 meters. Dredging the channels can increase its capacity thus water can flow well. With this condition, we hope there will be no inundation in surrounding areas," he conveyed.
